Back to school? What about COVID-19?
What’s your thoughts for sending your child back to school in 2022?
From coming February, the 1st 2022, Students will be returning to school. Many parents are focusing on how the schools are preparing on returning students.
Due to COVID 19, there are many positive cases were summitted in NSW. Cause on the situation they are questioning about school procedures and curios about governments decision.
Accordance to the NSW government, now many teenagers have already completed vaccinations there is no point interfere with study while staying at home. Governments are highly focused on students to return and focus on studies. But this is only available long as they follow the procedure of governments requirements
Requirements if NSW Government:
- Wearing mask are highly recommended
- RAT kit test twice per week
- Social distancing
NSW announced plans to open schools for the upcoming new semester.
Plans for new semester:
- A RAT test kit will be provided to students at the start of the first semester. (to be tested twice a week)
- NSW announced that 12 million test kit will be provided to all the schools and childcare centre employees.
- Schools will receive the first 6 million and distribute them to parents.
What actions are taken if there is a student who received a positive result while attending school?
Are the school procedure and plans for tested positive students?
As per NSW government have announced, all the schools will continue operate due to high vaccine rate. The school will continue to work and take measures to operate the school normally even if it is called a close contact.
A confirmed child cannot go to school for two weeks and must report to the school and NSW Health Department. Once it has been confirmed and identified by NSW Health district, teachers will be informing parents and will be instructed to monitor symptoms for their child
Now quarantine has been reduced 14days to 7days. However, government are strongly recommended, if any symptoms remaining after isolation, they must stay home.
If symptoms begin to develop even after the test, it is recommended to retest the next day.
Would the events (exhibition, outdoor) have processed as usual at school?
Governments guideline for small events and outdoor activities, can be processed ahead, along with plans for COVID 19 safety measures such as wearing mask and keeping distance.
Since it is an indispensable educational element and part of memories, rather than banning it, the government will allow all the events to be operated.
Do all grades need to wear mask?
Yes, NSW recommended all graded to wear masks for all the students and teaches safety.
Apart from that, Prime minister Dominic Perrottet once mentioned that faculty members belonging to schools should be vaccinated with booster shots, but the work is still underway on the order.
Hoping to meet better results by establishing both governments guidelines and opinion from parents.
